Now that I am in a good relationship, I can look back and ponder the online dating phenomenon a little more objectively. A few years ago, a very successful attorney friend of mine suggested I try online dating. I listened to her for a few simple reasons. One, she was gorgeous; two, she had investigated a few of these online dating websites and had had success (she was getting married) and three, she shared an online site with me that was "for professionals only" and I couldn't find any reason not to try it. The fact remains that if the traditional methods of meeting Mr. or Ms. Right haven't panned out for you, there are online dating websites that just might turn your love life around.
Some simple things to remember if you decide to go the online dating route are these: Don't put your personal information (phone number, email address, photograph) out there on a public site - even one designed for professionals. Make sure the website is one you trust and take the precautions you should take. Online dating can, and does, work, but just use common sense.
Your objective here is to meet quality people, right? Have you ever taken online education classes? Dating online has direct parallels. First, you are increasing your chances of meeting more people in less time. People with busy lives may prefer an online degree because it saves them time. Online dating can do the same thing, and in the end, your "degree" could be the love of your life.

Or, if you're just fed up with the lack of quality people in the "dating pool" then, you may be ready for a new method of meeting the right person. Go forth with no expectations aside from meeting new, quality people. Don't misrepresent yourself and above all, tell the truth. No one likes to meet someone who has over promised and made themselves out to be something they're not. Pay attention to your inner feelings and use your intuition.
